Last week I commented with shock and surprise because of seeing Malcolm Hurlston from Consumer Credit Counselling Service finally speak out about the consumer abuses by Northern Rock who were unfairly and unreasonably routinely disregarding proposals through an Individual Voluntary Arrangement.

So I was talking with Ronnie Hutcheon, the Liverpool solicitor that had previously filed a court case against Northern Rock because of consumer abuses. Mr. Hutcheon was very excited to see that Mr. Hurlston of CCCS was quoted in the recent article in the Guardian about Northern Rock and that his comments were directly on target with the case against Northern Rock.

I also understand that the reporter that interviewed Mr. Hurlston for that article is going to be asked for an affidavit that the quotes in the article were accurate since the article will be entered as supporting evidence against the high street banks.

I think Mr. Malcolm Hurlston will also be called upon to give a separate statement for this case regarding bad banking behavior by high street banks. Not sure if I spoke out of turn but I did mention that surely CCCS as a charity should be jumping at the chance to defend consumers against unfair banking practices.
