I receive many calls and emails from people who are struggling to service their unsecured debts and are looking for options, but they own property.

Many people will begin looking at the New Year soon and will be thinking about how to make changes in their lives.

That is what we do each New Year.

When looking at options and solutions as to how to repay debts, many people look to a Debt Management Plan or DMP.

Basically a DMP is a repayment scheme where you pay what you can afford each month to your debts, not what each creditor may be asking you to pay.

If you are facing financial issues and struggling to meet payments on unsecured debts you do have some options, but what I am hearing more and more is that people are considering bankruptcy, but would like to try something to avoid it if at all possible. 

I have been speaking to a lot of people lately regarding Debt Management Plans or DMP’s.

The reason for this seems to stem from the fact that many of them have had the interest rates on their accounts raised and they are getting nowhere by making the minimum payments.

And yes, that would be correct.

Many people know they are experiencing, or about to experience a severe financial breakdown, they can see the writing on the wall; but what to do?

I can dream, can’t I? If I could get a wish for debtors it would be to wave a wand and implement this perfect debt assistance or debt relief program.
Here is what the program would look like.

I figure that when I write I share a bit of myself so I wanted to bring you inside my reversal of a position on debt assistance and consumer debt help. What once many felt was right, is no longer so.
