Question: Whilst bankrupt, I was informed of money left to me in a will. Last August, my Bankruptcy was discharged after 6 months. Now a year later the money from the will is being paid out. Does this money still have to go towards my bankruptcy?
Answer: Once the bankruptcy is discharged it is over and you do not need to inform the OR of any windfalls, however, if you knew of this whilst in bankruptcy and did not inform the OR, it can be a gray area. You can confirm this at www.insolvency.gov.uk
