Myvesta UK FAQs

Post bankruptcy

Question: Hi, I used your service when my wife & I declared ourselves bankrupt in July 2008. Now discharged I received a phone call from HSBC bank (who had a 2nd charge on my house) saying they had £4100 credit on my account after taking what I owed them. He offered to transfer it to my bank account if I gave him the details. Althouigh I would be more than grateful, I'm not sure if I should accept it. I don't want to take it & them be asked to return it to the OR. Can you please advise asap. Thanks, Brian Reynolds

Answer:  To our knowledge once a bankruptcy has been discharged it is over, period. The credit of £4100 may indeed be yours; you can inquire with the OR who handled your bankruptcy to confirm that you have been discharged, and that they have no other charges or outstanding fees to be paid.
