Joint Mortgage and ex applying for bankruptcy

Question: I left the matrimonial home over 3 years ago, and was finally divorced in August 2009. I then continued to pay towards the mortgage until September 2008 (when I got my own place), but have only paid maintenance since. This is due to finish in June 2010. My ex has said that once this takes place she is not willing to remain in the matrimonial home and will hand the keys back to the mortgage company and/or declare herself bankrupt. My name is still on the mortgage papers, even though I had contacted the lenders and asked to be taken off the mortgage. She could not/would not provide sufficient details in which to take sole responsibility for the mortgage. There is no equity in the property, and since I've not been there, little has been done to upkeep the property. What is the impact on me should she: a: declare bankruptcy b: hand back the keys (without any arrears). Thanks

Answer:  If the mortgage is stil in both names and she fails to make the payments or hands the keys back, you both are equally responsible for the debt.  If she goes bankrupt, then you will be responsible for the debt.
