Bankrupt and considering taking in a lodger??

Postby Angel on 30 Sep 2008, 13:05

I declared myself Bankrupt in July and am currently awaiting my OR report.

My Income and Expenditure is curerntly on limits and work during the winter months seems like it may lesson, meaning a lower income.

I am in a spacious 2 bed apartment and have a friend who is currently unemployed in need of somewhere to live whilst between jobs, changing areas and going through rehabilitation from an operation. I'd love to offer my spare room by way of assistance, but I don't want to do anything that may cause me problems with my Bankruptcy at this stage.

I am aware that I need to advise my OR of any changes in my circumstances, but what should I take into consideration before offering my help to a friend in need?

At first I wouldn't be asking for money from my friend, whilst they get back on their feet when funds come in again in a month or two when they are fit to return to work.

Any advice on this matter would be gratefully received.

thanks
Angel :)

Hello

Once you started receiving money from your friend this would be change in circumstances that you would have to disclose.
