Hi,
I am a discharged bankrupt. However, I have recently received a payment demand for a mobile phone that I had 3 or 4 years ago.
I am sure I paid this (although it was late) and believe it was to a debt collection agency. I remember the call vividly and can remember exactly where I was and that I was on a lunch break when I made the call / payment. However, I can not remember if I paid by one of the two bank accounts, or my credit card, or the exact date (I have no statements).
The envelope contained 2 letters, one from the mobile network stating the debt was passed to a dept collection agency only THIS MONTH and the other from the agency demanding payment at the end of the month (which I cannot afford).
Firstly I thought it was strange as this debt (if I did owe it) would have been 3 / 4 years old now with no previous requests for money, and that two different letters seem to have come together in one envelope.
Anyway, my question is this...
If I have been declared bankrupt and discharged, then made aware of debt that I didnt know I had from before I was made bankrupt (now after I am discharged) would this have been cleared in the bankruptcy?
Im just not sure what I am supposed to do. Has anyone got any advice?
Thanks in advance
